<description>Thank you. If you don't mind I'll ask further -- do you dislike looking people in the eye in real life or when photographing them, or just when you paint?
.
.
.
It just depends on the situation. In general my eye contact is good. With my therapist its poor, with Blossom it's poor, with a camera it's poor but with a complete stranger I stand stall, confident and have great eye contact. The difference is those who know me might catch of a glimpse of what I feel I need to hide. Also, when it comes to photos of people I immediately look at the eyes and sometimes I see "characteristics" of that person that may not really be there. I sometimes look at a person and think I see sadness and then I start to feel it intensely. I sometimes look at the eyes and think I see a predator and so I begin to feel afraid. People say the eyes are the window to the soul. I fear too many people knowing exactly what is in mine and I fear knowing exactly what's behind the eyes of others.
I even wear a baseball cap so I can hide my eyes at a moments notice.
gotta run, my phone's ringing,

<description>What is it like to smooth away the facial features of these photos? I wonder if it's different to erase a face than to paint a blank one to begin with?

It feels safe. I'm not looking anyone in the eye anymore. So, I'd say it feels safe.
