Who is Charlene? Charlene is a little girl in Oregon who is very special to me. She’s so special that I believe she deserves a line of dolls dedicated to her.
The very first doll in this line is an African-American rag doll who stands 28 inches. She’s wearing a cream colored cotton dress with a pink ribbon and pink rose. She has matching bloomers, white socks and black patented “leather” shoes. You will also notice she’s got little sunflower earrings.

Little Flower Girl - a freckled young girl sits in her flower garden.
A common theme in my paintings is to combine a woman or child with a flower. Little Flower Girl is no different. Her hair is made of leaves and flower petals.
Here you can see the textured background and a close up view of her eyes. I haven’t decided if I want to add color to her eyes and reduce the amount of color on her lips. One thing I noticed about viewing her smaller on the computer is that she looks cockeyed. Hopefully on the image above you’ll be able to see she isn’t. As far as color in her eyes goes I think I’ll leave them alone for now.
Little Flower girl can be found in the Innocence Gallery with other flower children and fairies.

The dress of this young woman drapes across her and forms a river where a small sprout comes forth. On the sprout is a cardinal, on the limbs of her hair is another. I’m a lover of texture so there’s a lot of that to see as well. Greens and hues of blue are accented by bursts of orange and small dabs of yellow and red. Her face is half concealed, her arms folded around her holding her inner earth steady above the river.

On The Eve of Something Beautiful (V1 and V2) by F. Magdalene

There are three hearts in this painting all representing strength of mind, spirit and purpose.
In the detailed views below you can see how closely she is listening. You may also be able to catch a glimpse of her eye lashes as well as the rays glowing behind her.

The clothes of this woman of strength are earth tones which accent her turquoise touched sunset.

She must surely be at peace. There isn’t a hint of discontent in her stature or expression.
Details: Gold and green head scarf, honey brown skin, meditating eyes, black/brown afro, blue, green and gold, leather brown gown, ribbon details, rays of light, sunrise.
