A messy studio is art work on it’s own.

Messy studio FB group

I believe that and so does the Messy Art Studio group I joined on Facebook.

I’m working with a 9 x 10 space, which is half of my bedroom. I can’t complain about the size of my room! It works well for me. What’s not shown is the closet which holds a lot of my sewing materials. I’m in love with Dollar Tree. I got most of my bins from there.

I’ve got a place for work clothes, stuff I change in to so I don’t destroy my other clothing. It’s an occupational hazard. The sewing machine stays in the living room because anything that enters this room here is at risk of being splashed with paint. Thank goodness for water resistant floor coverings.

My goal for this fall is to tackle the closet in here and get it more functional. It’s half office, half clothing. My packing materials are in there, tissue paper for packing, a filing system, rectangular bins like in the photo, and a few frames. I like to use those hanging shoe holders as a bins for envelopes, bubble wrap, tissue and things like that. It keeps it off the floor and in a spot where I can easily find it. Pre-cut boards are in the office area of the closet as are records of transactions. I just split it right in half. It works. The other side is clothes.

So here is the studio in all it’s messy, container full glory. The walls are full of art and the floor well covered, or the carpet would look like a bad Jackson Pollock .

No need to feel nervous, comment if you'd like.
