Snapshot

The last few days have been torture. I hurt from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. The amputation site is having an electric storm of shock and neuropathy. It’s been a bad few days and I’ve done very little reaching out. I’ve just been waiting for medication time!

The foot that was amputated coincidentally was the foot with Chronic Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. Though amputated for other reasons, I hoped the RSD fire and pain would stop, it didn’t and won’t. It doesn’t work that way.

Though there be dragons, also there are angles with much needed gifts. I was gifted a brand new memory foam bed from the family of a fellow artist. I was surprised I’d be getting a bed in the mail. Not only is it comfy, it was very easy to set up. I’m quite pleased with it. I’m relaxing in it as I type along.

Then there’s art. It’s been a great month for sales. I sold 6 pieces, including the piece called Snapshot and African Notes . I so love the expression on her face when she first saw it Snapshot. I love when my art touches people in that way.

Another good thing was going down memory lane. I got my cocoa butter in the mail and promptly made lotions and butters. It was easy but it reminded me of all the salves and homeopathy I was into. The good thing is, all the oils, tinctures, alcohols and herbs were packed and saved. I didn’t lose one. I can’t wait to see those things again.

Even though I have CBD and THC oils for pain, I’d still love a homemade scrub or some sort of lavender oil to put on before bed. Speaking of lavender. I bought something for myself, a small treat: Dr Bronner’s Pure-Castile Lavender Hemp Soap. Om-goodness, worth every penny. And because sales were so good, I purchased a small set of quality shampoo and conditioner! It’s about time, too.

It’s been a mix of harsh pain w good will and art. There’s only one thing to be said about this endurance – I’m happy I made it through to the other side.
