Lucid fmaSometimes a girl has to go Avante Garde and that's exactly what I did with this piece.

This painting called Lucid was created by using wet acrylics allowed to flow into each other to create a surreal, colorful yet shadowy, mysterious atmosphere. The blue face is part of the sky line and everything flows from her. From her head rises white clouds that crack and become mist that surrounds a shadowy black figure which is also her hair. The clouds flow over him, around and above him to form a bare white tree. The white tree and the shadowy figure stand on the a mix of yellow, green and blue earthly shoulders.

Lucid is a small painting at 4 inches by 4 inches. It was painted on textured card stock. ...continue reading "Lucid"

This is an original painting in acrylic and ink on reclaimed canvas. The painting shows a female face at the edge of the canvas. She's holding her breath under a sea of color. Her hair is red and yellow flames of fire that never extinguish. Even though black and turquoise water rush over her, she will resurface.

Painting size: 7 x 5 inches

I had no idea there would be a series of paintings called PTSD but there is. . .

In PTSD No3 there's a river that flows from the sky right through the woman, past the eyes and forms the figures dress. The dress runs over the brick wall and simply stops. The paint on the brick wall has bits of stone mixed in making this piece multidimensional. I had to mix in a bit of stone with the sunflower painting because sunflowers in stone is significant to me. There are also tiny little details, layer upon layer of color and edge to edge movement which all comes together to form PTSD No3 Whisper.

Whisper can be purchased in my ETSY shop by clicking the link provided on the sidebar. If you do not have an ETSY account you may contact me to use PayPal.

Sweet, sweet Gardenia why won't you smile?
The earth offers the power of blossoms as the
Heavens exhale in color
Sweet, sweet Gardenia, why won't you open your eyes?
Crumbling soul, child of despair
Please I say, open your eyes.

Pull to Pieces is a small oil painting (5 x 7) created with the aide of a toothpick. One of the fun things about this painting is that it is painted whole and strong at the top but it begins to crack and mute towards the bottom.

Goodbye flowers, hello cold.  It seems during the cold I've lost artistic inspiration so I filled my sketch diary with paintings inspired by lack of inspiration.

Goodbye sunny flowers. It's oh so cold these days.

Goodbye flowers

The sun rays have left, they took with them my ability to create.

Cold Outside

At the table in my under pants I sit and wait.
