Can I Trade My Body In For A New Model?

I don’t have a receipt but I’d like to return this body and exchange it for a new one. Do you have a size 10 available in an African-American female around age 25? I know I’m actually 35 but as long as I’m trading me in I thought I’d go for a younger model. I want an extended warranty this time.

Tomorrow/today I go see the surgeon to set up an appointment for a new left knee. I can’t wait. It’s been a long time coming but finally, a new knee. After the first knee I wait and then get the right knee done. They’ll do physical therapy on the hips in hopes to slow down the deterioration. If that doesn’t work and the pain is too much or continues to slow me down then they’ll take another step and figure out if repair work needs to be done or if replacement is necessary. Either way, things will begin to look up my way on the physical side. I’ll be unstoppable! The bionic woman! Flash Aussie’s on the move! I can’t wait.

With home care after the surgery comes an in home nurse. I don’t think I’ll approach her with the “naughty nurse” idea. That might not be the best thing to do. So I’ll have to be a good patient and not suggest such things. Dang it! I can’t have any fun. Why do I have to be single now? Why now when there’s no one to fill this much needed role? But hey, I’ll focus on the new knee coming up and maybe I’ll forget all about not having a naughty nurse this time around. It’ll be okay, I’m sure it will. I’ll just think about how I plan to walk with my new knee. Shift right, shift left…hip out a bit, in a bit, stop, turn to the left, pose…..point to the new knee and say, “That’s right!” and resume walking. Repeat this step every 10 feet.

Okay, now on to pets. This is a shot of me and Gracie on the love seat. Gracie and Austin
This is the cat that gives me the morning celebration. She seems so happy to be with me another day. That’s all nice and everything but even so I told her today she has to go get a job and start pulling her weight around the house. No more free rides at my house. She just purred so I’ll have to find another way to brake it to her that she has to start contributing to the house hold. She can’t just demand food and attention and give nothing. Your free ride is over Gracie! You’re two years old now, it’s high time you got a job. Cute doesn’t pay the bills.

  • If you figure out how to trade in bodies, please share the secret. I’d like to execute a trade too. About 6 months ago I had a run-in (literally) with a rock wall. The surgeon they sent in said, “well your nose doesn’t appear to be broken.” I sighed and said “darn it, guess I can’t get a new one then, can I?”

Good luck with the knee surgery!

  • Such a sweet photo! That Gracie knows how to suck up so she doesn’t have to go to work. Good luck with the knee surgery and keep us informed when it happens so we don’t worry *too* much about you!

  • Oh knee surgery! I’ve actually seen a a few total knee replacement surgeries in my nursing career. Trust me, you should thank you anethesiologist…profusely.

The cool thing though, it to see someone who could hardly walk before the surgery, refuse to be wheeled out of the hospital, which is requried, but to get up and walk out on their own. That made it all worth it.

Gracie looks so cuddly. Makes me want a cat again. Our took off after we moved to this new house and has never been found. I miss her :(
