I was the oldest child. My sister was the youngest and the black sheep rebel. She was always in trouble. I never was. Today we are friends as well as sisters. Both of us know about the abuse that the other one suffered. I have dealt with most of my issues. She drinks and smokes to deny her pain. We have both survived in our own way. Thanks for the article. Nightmares, like flashbacks, can mean that you are ready to face whatever issues the nightmares or flashbacks are showing you. Find people who will support you through this time of nightmares. My parents did that too--divided us. To this day I can understand and forgive my brothers but I will not give them the chance to hurt me further. We each survived the only way we could survive.
