Feelings List Links

The first three link references are my top choices for feeling lists and lists of positive and negative emotions with definitions. The links at the bottom are lists with no definitions but some include synonyms which may prove helpful. There are also links to sites with emotion faces and a category called other where various lists and feelings/emotion based sites will be listed.

*** Emotions definitions and links, good information, lots of links to specific emotions found at The Free Dictionary by Farlex.

*** Emotions defined, good list, good definitions, plenty of links, still on The Free Dictionary web page.
Examples of what you’ll find on the above link:
shame - a painful emotion resulting from an awareness of inadequacy or guilt
despair - the feeling that everything is wrong and nothing will turn out well; “they moaned in despair and dismay”; “one harsh word would send her into the depths of despair”

By clicking the links you’ll be redirected to deeper discussions and more emotions lists and definitions.

***Basic Emotions ***- lists and synonyms, definitions, examples and names of those who theorized emotions. Impressive.

** Feeling words with synonyms from the Healthy Relationships web page.

** Feelings list in order of intensity, light to heavy. For instance, when listing words for mad they start out with bothered and end with blind rage. Down starts out with down and ends with devastated. Good list to gauge level of specific emotions from the It Takes A Village To Save A Marriage web page.

List of Emotions on Wiki

Aristotle’s List of Emotions – and odd list of defined emotions said to be painful.

List of Feeling Words- from the Psych Page (no definitions)

Common Negative Emotions- Emotional Intelligence Web Page (no definitions)

Large list of emotions- Emotional Intelligence Web Page (no definitions)

Faces

guiltyFeeling Faces Cards - 42 Feeling Faces Cards like emotional flash cards.

(I own a deck of Feeling Faces Cards. I’m not a therapist but I think it would be an interesting tool to use when working with child alters of those living with Dissociative Identity Disorder. This is what I intend to do with my deck.)

Emotion Face Smileys - Line drawn faces, smileys, emoticons, etc page of drawn faces with emotions on the page called “How Does Your Inner Child Feel Today?”

I’m interested in more feelings lists. Leave comments linking to lists. You may link to this page but please do not do a copy/paste in part or in whole. Thanks.

I’ve come across the first two, but not the third. Interesting.

The thing that seemed to help me the most was a set of line drawings. Just the words never helped me much. But I just didn’t know how to define them. Dictionary definitions didn’t help matters.

I don’t know where I found the image. I lost the link after I uploaded it to my photobucket account. But you can download it from here.

(I hope the link is active)
