Recurrent themes: Seeing a crime that never gets taken seriously and therefore never solved or given the justice it deserves. In the middle of a serious situation the mother behaves contrary to reason. Usually when a baby has road burn you don’t decide to go to dinner. At the restaurant I didn’t join everyone at the table. I went off to do my own thing.
Of interest: The tree that trunk and the steam, how deep the roots went, the knot in the shape of the fist, the fact that the mother was unable to hold the fist because it was too heavy. Concern for my safety from the boy I made stop hurting his peer.
Commentary: The dream seems typical of what I always dream. Children are being hurt, no one is listening, the mother behaves irrationally, I go off to do my own thing and absolutely nothing is resolved. The one thing that stands out in this dream is the lack of power the mother had over the tree. Despite it being knocked down and the truck pulled up the roots remained. A knot in the shape of a fist was too heavy for her to hold. She dropped it and didn’t try again to pick it up. That strength was of no significance to her. She didn’t even consider trying to pick it up. It was just a worthless limb to her at that point. I do know that when drawing and in dreams a tree often symbolizes the individual. I like the fact that the roots ran deep. I saw the steam as anger. The fact that it broke through in a different spot is of interest but I’m not sure what to think of it. Perhaps it was that the anger had no where else to go so it burst through the ground making hole for the roots of the tree to spring up again.
I often draw trees coming right out of the head of figures. The branches are hair and the branches go anywhere they like, no boundaries what so ever, they just grow up and up and up with no possible way to stop them. Sometimes I use tree branches as hair but the branches have very few leaves. Trees often show up in my sketches but they symbolize something totally different than what I use flowers for.
