Today is in stark contrast from yesterday. I woke up feeling refreshed, almost peaceful. Funny the difference a day can make.

When I was a kid and things at home were stressful, I would steal away for a walk with the family dog, down a dirt field trail that ran for several miles from a nearby farm, past my house and on to almost the next town. It always seemed to be those hot, dry August days when this would happen, or maybe this is when I remembered them. I loved those walks with Poochy. She would run into the corn fields and flush the ring-neck pheasants while I strolled on feeling the soft dry dirt squeezing up through my toes. It didn’t matter how bad things got, these lazy walks would take me to a world that held no problems.
This was the feeling I got when I looked at your artwork. That field trail is long gone, but I have my garden now, and a quiet, peaceful stroll around it, touching and studying each plant gives me the same feeling of quiet solitude that I seem to need so much. Spring is here, the trees will be leafing out soon; and the quiet shady spots will be for sitting on the benches and reading books.

It’s a bit darker but it’s good for it. I often call depression ‘an eraser in the mind’, so having her face kind of blank works really well, to my view anyway.
