Little Bits – Creations of Beauty

A good friend of mine put her creations out on in the world awhile ago but has only recently begun to advertise them. Her step towards making Little Bits grow brought me back to when I first started offering my artwork for sale and all the ups and downs I had with taking that huge step. Perhaps Beauty already knows her work is just like her name but I’d still like to briefly share my experience of being scared to death to put my stuff out into the world.

When I took that step it was with much trepidation. At the time I got a really nice boost of confidence from a woman who runs a non-for-profit organization. The talks we had and her patients for my fears helped me go from simply displaying my art to taking the huge risk of offering it for sale.  After I took the risk I was scared to death I’d made a mistake. I figured I was making a great fool of myself because I personally saw no real value in it. I wondered if someone would see what I called mistakes and count me and the art itself as worthless. I wondered if someone would write and say, “This is crap, I want my money back.” All of these things crossed my mind and occasionally they still do.  However, with the passing of time and a lot of support from friends I can honestly say putting my artwork out was a wonderful step. It wasn’t just a good financial step but a good healing step. Confidence and support make a huge difference when sticking your neck out with the  great fear that someone is going to  come along and chop it off. It is my hope that as Little Bits begins to grow the person behind it will also feel the excitement and benefit emotionally and therapeutically. It will be exciting, scary, overwhelming, annoying, frustrating, joyful, purposeful and even fun. I think I’ve run the gamete on emotions when it comes to running the art site. The one that makes it all worth it though is joy.  I hope Little Bits brings a lot of joy.

So, what do I have from Little Bits? I have several softies and a pair of fingerless gloves. The softies are not just adorable but they are very well made. You can tell she pays attention to the details. As far as the fingerless gloves go, well when I wore them last winter my therapist commented that they were a great idea for people who have PTSD and can’t deal with something covering their hands all the way. Basically, they’re stylish and psych approved. LOL

Now that you know some of her works, who is the person behind them? She’s a mother, a sister an aunt and a friend. She has raised five sons very well and is an integral part in the lives of her grandchildren.  If she’s reading this then the readheaded woman is surely embarrassed but ya know, it’s about time someone gave a good and real description of her.  This is a woman who puts her heart into whatever she does. She’s funny, fun to talk to, intelligent, sweet and kind. She’s clumsy, sometimes forgetful but always truthful and  real. She’s got moments of floundering and moments of despair but she always finds her grounding in her faith. She’s a good woman with a lot to offer. Right now she’s offering her creations. Check them out. It’s worth it.

PS. Very soon you will see creations from Beautiful Dreamer and Sundrip Art side by side on Etsy. All you’ll need to do is click the Etsy link on my side bar or click the link (when it arrives) on Beauty’s blog and you’ll be directed to the Esty location of  Sundrip and Little Bits.

  • Cripes, this is embarrassing! Thanks for the (totally unsolicited) plug though. Hmmm, isn’t it always harder to handle praise than criticism? Is it just me?
