<description>To chime in with Erin, your new betta needs a filtered aquarium, not a bowl. Pet store people tell you that bettas can live in a tiny bowl so they'll sell you the fish - and more when that fish dies after a miserable life. You can have a build up of ammonia in a betta bowl - this is why a filtered tank is preferable. Consider a betta bowl a situation where a fish swims around in his own waste. Bettas like to swim too. Don't believe the people who will try to tell you that they can't swim, and that's why it's okay to keep them in the equivalent of having a person sleep in a laundry basket.

There is lots of information on the proper care of bettas online.

The "blowfish" is a celestial goldfish.</description>

		<description>Hey,
As a betta fish enthusiast, I can give you some information, if you'd like. :)

Bettas are tropical fish (from Thailand) who prefer water temperatures of 78-80 degrees. As it's hard (and dangerous) to heat small bowls and tanks, experts recommend a tank 2.5 gallons or larger-- but the bigger, the better. Bettas come from rice paddies, which unfortunately has, over the years, led to the myth that they come from shallow puddles. Actually, rice paddies span acres and acres, and the small bowls bettas are kept in are really not ideal at all.
Kept properly, bettas can live for years. Bruce is a beautiful fish, and I hope you find the links below helpful. :)

		<description>to Cheese and Blogspot people,

"I really hope I didn’t offend anyone. I miss having you visit my stupid, stupid blog."

My answer is rather controversial in nature and there will be many that do not agree with me on this but here's the thing...

No, you haven't offended me. I just hate visiting blogspot.com because when I go there I get spammed hard via email and on my blog. I think there are 4 blogs from blogspot that I go to. My belief is the amount of script, add-ons and things like that which blogspot allows that gives me all that horrible spam. I've managed to keep it to a minimum over here at my dot com because I visit blogspot so infrequently and link to only a few blogs over there which do not have a huge number of possibly harmful scripts and links.

I am also very cautious about the sidebar links on the blogs that are on my blogroll or that I visit. If there are links to e-commerce type things or advertisements I don't like to visit or link to the blog because I get spammed so hard. There is a rather hilarious blog that I no longer visit because of adverts.

Also, if there are links to adult sites on a sidebar and I visit that site and leave a comment then I end up getting some of the worst porn spam imaginable. Do I have issues with porn, in general no but when they spam me with horrific incestuous or rape porn I'm not a happy camper. When I visit blogspot I get a lot of that stuff.

I don't have an issue with your "stupid, stupid blog" as you called it. I have an issue with it's location. I'm sorry about that. I've backed off of several blogspot blogs because every single solitary time I go there I have an issue. So, that's why you and several others haven't seen me around much.

A controversial answer? Yes, but a truthful answer non-the-less.
