The People Behind My Eyes

This is a three part entry with two dreams and one re-write.

Dream One

A few days ago I had a dream that I was back in the 10^th grade house only as an adult. My sister and I were in bed together in the mother’s room waiting for someone who loved her to come and discover her. They’d known each other, he thought he lost her but was going to come to the house to discuss this loss with me. The sister was going to surprise him when he walked in the bedroom. As we lay there I heard rustling outside. After investigating it became clear to me two men were going to break in. The man in the get away car told the other criminal not to harm us but to find out what we know then leave. I attempted to warn my sister of the danger but instead of heading it she went to the door to see what the man wanted. He pushed his way in and over took her. I ran to the back and climbed out the window of the mother’s bedroom. It was pitch black out there except for back porch lights. The field was full of lions and wolves waiting for me to let my guard down so they could pounce.

I knew they’d taken my sister but I didn’t know what they wanted with us. I decided to go for help which meant getting through the field to the highway without getting eaten. As I went through the field I came upon several houses. The people were too afraid to help me so they told me to just keep going until I saw the highway. Then I saw one lady who told me she’d give me a ride to the highway but no further. I got into her little white Volkswagen Bug but didn’t tell her what I was running from. I realized she was taking me much further than she said she would. She was taking me to a 24 hour store where I could use the phone and get help. As I got out of the car a silver mirror with beautiful carvings and a matching whisky flask fell at my feet. She picked them up and put them back in the car. Behind her stood a tall man with dark hair. She introduced him as her fiancé. She said he was meeting her at this location. I asked how he knew to come here when she hadn’t planned on going to that store? She smiled, the man grabbed me and shoved me in the car. They were working with the two men outside the apartment building. I woke up from there.

COMMENTARY:

I had this dream two nights ago but for some reason it keeps coming back to me. I think I’ve gotten away and can call for help only to find out I’ve been set up and captured. I felt I had no choice but to trust this stranger so I could go get help for myself and my sister but she turned out to be untrustworthy and dangerous.
