I hate to brag (that’s not true) but today I had fried green tomatoes along side my pork chop dinner. Uh huh, that’s right, fried green tomatoes. I had to resist the urge to watch the movie Fried Green Tomatoes while eating them. I did watch one of my favorite movies though, The Village. It’s kinda corny but I like it.
I know y’all all just have to know how I feel about the old shows and the new CBS line up so let me give you a run down. We’ll start with the old shows first.
I’m still a huge fan of Numbers, CSI and Without A Trace. CSI is the best show on television but I hope they don’t spend an entire season mourning Warrick. The thing about Warrick is he sadly couldn’t keep himself sober so he lost his job. They had to kill him off the show which is how we got the new girl Riley. I have no opinion of her yet. I love the science of CSI as well as the characters so even if I don’t like her I’ll still watch the show.
Cold Case – It’s good to see the producers gave their lead female some colour. For a bit there it looked like she’d never seen the sun thus her serious vitamin D deficiency. I usually enjoyed the show but I had a difficult time with how dark it was and how dead they made the characters look. It’s good to see they paid their light bill and gave their actress some milk.
I still can’t stand CSI: Miami. The one liners get on my nerves. The car chases and their big time hero Heratio Cane is too over the top for me. I get sick of watching their female cops run around in heals chasing bad guys. I’m not a huge fan of CSI: New York or NCIS. I’m not a fan at all of The Unit and the now canceled show Flashpoint. My issue with Flashpoint was how sad the show was. It was also the same dang on theme. Someone is taken hostage, you hear the gunman’s life story, the gunman is killed and then the team goes for a beer. And they wonder why alcoholism is a major problem on the police force….hmmmm. I wonder.
How I Met Your Mother is a take off of Friends. It will more than likely run a very long time still I’m not thrilled with the show. I don’t like the man-ho that is Neil Patrick Harris but I’ve been known to have it on as background noise. Moving along, I do not even have the show Two And A Half Men on for background noise. I can’t stand the character Charlie Sheen plays and I hate the wimpy brother and the way they treat the son. That show has serious issues. Basically Charlie sleeps around, undermines his brother, makes fun of his nephew and in the end gets the girl because he’s rich. That’s the theme of the show. That to me isn’t comedy so they can keep it. Comedy is The Big Bang Theory. I didn’t think that show would make it but it’s down right hilarious at times.
Now for the new stuff. Let me say, I didn’t think any of the new shows would be that great but I was wrong.
The Mentalist – I was totally prepared to not like that show but I have to admit, I like it. I think the star of the show is egotistical and a know it all but the show quickly grew on me. Two thumbs up.
Eleventh Hour –The lead character, Dr. Hood played in the movie A Knight’s Tale. I think seeing him in that movie as a bad guy made me dislike him so again I was all set to hate this show but the science of it drew me in. I’m really feeling this show and the characters. Two thumbs up.
Worst Week – Are they really going to spend the entire season having that guy look like a loser in front of his new family? Are they really going to spend the whole time with the theme of how things get messed up so they can’t tell the father from That 70’s Show that his daughter is pregnant? Two thumbs down.
The Ex-List – Please stop and stop it now, two thumbs down.
Gary Un-married – It has it’s moments but mostly it’s another sit com that won’t go anywhere.
So, that’s it for this addition of TV with Aussie. I must now get back to my fried green tomatoes.
Until again,
Aussie

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! I miss American TV. Everything here is a season or more behind. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because it was on.
It’s almost enough to make a gal turn to torrenting. And of course because I have an IP address out of the country, I can’t watch crap on the network websites.
I’ve never tried fried green tomatoes, but yum, it sounds good!
I used to watch CSI the first few seasons it was on. I’m not sure what happened, I really liked it. Maybe life just got in the way and I forgot about it, I don’t know.
Two and a Half Men? Yuck. My sister tells me this is the only show my mother watches besides Judge Judy….I too hate how the boy is treated on this show, and the bad influence his uncle is on him.
I love CSI, Cold Case, Lost and Survivor. I tried to get into Fringe but couldn’t. Lately I record my shows and watch them later since babies love to get you up at 3am when there is nothing else on.
