Searching For Ladybird

It started out like any other day but got crazy rather quickly. I headed out to the post office to send off two orders only to find out it’s Veteran’s Day. I went next door to one of my favorite shops to pick up some Jasmine oil and Rose oil. I like to mix them in lotion. It smells great. So I got all of that and came home. I expected to be greeted by two wagging tails but nope, they were no where to be found. After about an hour of them being gone a neighbor showed up with them both on a leash. I got them back in the yard. Fife Jr. came and we put a large crate in my bedroom to hold the dogs. We went back outside to bring them in and they were gone again. Two hours later they’re back covered in the blood of a deer they took down. I am not usually one to grab my clonapin but this was twice today that I lost Ladybird. I was frazzled, tired and in a world of physical pain. I didn’t realize how attached I am to her until she was gone. I was crying behind the wheel and realized I was in no condition to drive. I came home and that’s when my neighbor showed up with both dogs. The second time Fife Jr. showed up with both of them who were a mile away in the woods eating a deer. Right now Ladybird, Brody and Halo are in the huge cage in my bedroom. The two older ones are dead tired seeing as how they’ve been out hunting wild life.

While looking for the dogs it began to snow. I was freezing out there, tired, upset and ready to just come in and go to bed. The pups are resting from their adventures and I’m about to do the same. The clonapin is kicking in so I’m just going to sit my butt on the loveseat and take it easy for the rest of the evening.

It’s been a crazy day…. A very crazy day. Brody had ID on him but Ladybird did not. I have money coming in tomorrow so she’ll be getting her ID with my number and Fife Junior’s number on it. When my neighbor found the dogs at first he called Fife Junior because that was the number on his tags. Ladybird didn’t have her collar on. All I did was let them out to use the restroom. I didn’t do what I warn people about all the time. She wasn’t wearing her tags. It helps bring them home. I’ll have money tomorrow and she will without a doubt have a collar with tags. Next week when she’s spayed and neutered she’ll also be chipped. Funny how quickly we get attached to these little buggers. I didn’t realize I’d cry like that when she wasn’t here. It just broke my heart to think she wasn’t coming back. Both babies are home and they’re in a super large cage in my bedroom sleeping. Halo is with them.I don’t want to lose Ladybird. I really, really like her.

That’s all,

Austin - frazzled and taxed

I’m so glad they’re home safe. I would have completely wigged out.

I’m really glad you got them back. Have you figured out how they are getting out?

KatM - Yup, for now they are. I need to get her fixed and chipped which will take a bit so I’m going to have a BOGO sale for art prints. That entry will be up soon.

Carmon - They jumped the fence both times. Scared the crap out of me.

YIKES! They jumped the fence. Oh, my. Now it’s going to be extra hard to keep them in. All of my neighbors have an invisible fence which does seem to do a good job. After a short time, the dogs get so used to where the borders are, they don’t even wear their collars any more. Even my neighbor’s Jack Russells have learned their boundries which is a good thing because they let the dogs in the swimming pool with the collars on and after that, they don’t work any more.

Of course after the dogs not wearing the collars for a week or so, they do figure out that they can take off at will. That’s how one of those Jacks ran over and bit me while I was walking down my driveway.
