These are a few of the things that pleased me this week.
On Redbubble I saw several new paintings and a photograph which caught my eye.
Elderly twins in Nice were photographed by Marsbub and titled Two.
A wonderful cubist flare painting called A MAN by Alexander Sokht.
A beautiful graphite and watercolor painting of Donna’s Mask by artist: D Jones.
I watched an elderly couple play golf across the street. They appeared to be in their 80’s but they pushed their golf bags and took the course on foot as if they were thirty-something. It was sweet as well as impressive.
I saw grandparents take an infant out for a stroller ride. The grandfather pushed the stroller as the grandmother walked along side him. When they turned around to go back down the street the grandfather turned the stroller backwards to keep the sun from directly hitting the baby. They paid attention to that tiny detail and it touched my heart.
I lie next to the open window and fell asleep to the sound of the rain.
I let my nose get lost in the scent of lavender and vanilla fabric softener on a pillow case pulled from the dryer.
I painted flowers, mostly roses and daisies plus one sunflower.
I had a pretty good weekend all around.

Gratitude Monday: A Little Joy Goes A Long Way -Monday, August 31, 2009 – 2:12AM EST

Thank you so much, I really needed to read some “good stuff”. I hope the rest of your week is as positive.
Take care,
castorgirl
Thank you. I love seeing art. It is one of my favorite things.
I hope you have a good week too.
Kate
I’m glad you found things to bring you joy. I hope the upcoming week will be kind to you.
I find it just as hard to write a gratitude post as I do writing one permeated with deep sorrow, or irritating daily annoyances.
I like that you notice and acknowledge the beauty in a grandfather turning a stroller around to keep the sun off of the baby, and the other “little” things you made note of. The so-called little things are what our lives are made of, and therefore worth paying tribute to.
