There’s good stuff and here it is:
- I’m thankful for Gus’ soft ears and wagging tail. I believe the addition of a wagging happy tail is a blessing all on its own. He’s happy with the most simple things. He’s always willing to snuggle and even puts his paw on mine as I sleep. It’s too sweet.
- I’m soothed by Bella’s purr and given a nice reminder of my own attitude when she chooses to show hers. That girl is the kitty version of me. She’s always running her meow/mouth to complain about something. She kills me! Her energy is contagious and her confidence something to emulate.
- Sales, oh so many sales. I got five (5) DVD’s for a total of $4.50. Here are the movies and my ratings: Brokeback Mountain (B-), Bourne Identity (A+), Bourne Supremacy (B+), Hard Rain (A) and Michael Clayton (B+). All those DVD’s for less than five bucks, how can I not put that on my gratitude list?
- It’s quieter here at home, less chaotic, less tense. The improvement may have lead to the next on my list:
- A break in depression allowing me to see a little sunlight and not shy away from it.
- Encouragement, support and laughter from friends. I’m thankful and grateful for friends that are willing to give me a gentle reality check.
- I’m grateful for my therapist. The guy rocks!
- It’s finally fall which means lots of old and new movies, lots of books, sweaters, hot drinks and times curled up on the loveseat by the fire place. I look forward to it.
- I’m encouraged each morning when I look outside my bedroom window and see a patch of sunflowers standing tall, looking up and thriving.
- Beside the patch of sunflowers sits my specially designed art table. Junior pimped my picnic table something fierce! He turned the average picnic table into an artists dream. From the table comes a collapsible easel. This allows me to work on the table flat or with the easel. I love it! There’s one cup holder slot and 4 water container slots. I also have one side of the table not as a bench but with a box seat at the end allowing me closer access to the table for detailed work. Lord have mercy. The best thing about the table is I can take it with me when I go. It’s not all one piece and wasn’t fixed so that it can never come apart.
I thought getting ESPN was great. Now I have this art table and ESPN. (grabs chest with open hands, leans forward) God loves me. (falls to knees dramatically, throws hands in the air) Can I get a witness?

Gratitude Monday: The Good Stuff – Monday, September 28, 2009 – 11:37am EST

Me, me! (waves hand in the air), pick me! I’ll be a witness!!
Ah, how wonderful that you have your little art table and, as a bonus, it’s right by your beautiful sunflowers. What possessed Jr. to help you out with this?
You sound so much better, obviously the tension at home was affecting you.
See, some things are even better than ESPN (in my ‘umble opinion.)
we liked the wya you described gus LOL
This post makes me smile.
So did you watch the Dallas/Carolina game? Guess who I pulled for?
Have I mailed you sunflower pics? I will do that today.
Glad you are having a good Monday.
Now that I’m single I’m no longer forced to suffer through American football
Boy did I suffer. I’m sure she no longer forces herself to sit through televised golf tournaments. Nor does she grin and bare tennis matches the way I did the Superbowl. I’m sure she missed Serina Williams act like a total ass but…. not me. I was there with full television clarity. I have The Golf Channel! Oh yes! But ESPN is for soccer and tennis.
What, you held out on me with sunflower photos. That’s okay E, that…is…okay.
Monday was pretty darn good…can’t complain.

He is one huge puppy with a lot of energy and a lot of love to give. Too sweet for his own good. Like most dogs he’s ruled by the cat. He waits for her to get finished drinking at the water bowl before he goes over there and starts gulping. Bella takes her time so he sits down behind her almost in line until she’s done. If she takes extra long he’ll lay down. The boy is too cute.
“See, some things are even better than ESPN (in my ‘umble opinion.)”
Really? Better than ESPN Hmmmm…. I thought we were kindred spirits but I’m beginning to question that, my crocheting, quilting, tea drinking, non-sports watching “friend.”
He made it for me ’cause the man owes me a crap load of money from the Brody situation. He and I know I’ll never see it but since he has a lot of different skills I had him pimp my picnic table. He also built me custom hand railing. It’s beautiful. BTW, the table still functions as a picnic table. Since the easel collapses flat into the slot I can put a table cloth over it and use it to eat off of. This baby was customized to the hilt. Ooooooh I should find a used wood burning pen and put SUNDRIP on the underside. That would be so cool.

Testify sister, testify!
Good post. Reminds me to look for the good things. Thank you for the reminder.

Its hard to see them sometimes. Sometimes when I do this entry I have to think really hard to come up with 5 things. Depression and sometimes even apathy can cloud my ability to see the good stuff. It happens. Shit happens but so does good stuff.
Smiles to you and yours,
Faith
In addition to my pimped out picnic table he’s making me a table easel for inside. This means I can watch sports while I paint. I’m living the dream!
The guy owes me much mullah so I’m having him work for it and make me stuff I actually want but could never afford to buy.
