Weapon of Choice
Where the pen is mightier than the sword…
By Jennifer B Worthington
Let me tell you, I just got a glimpse of Jennifer’s book and I’m blown away. If you appreciate raw, open, honest, lay it on the line with no sugar coating type writing then this is the book for you. In addition to her wonderful poetry she has her own artwork which also speaks very loudly.
One of the things that caught my attention right away was where she said she hated math because she was always counting time. Argh, that makes total sense to me. I counted lashes, breaths and footsteps. I counted all the time to see how those things related to the mother’s behaviors. I figured out if the sister got hit 10 times with the dowel rod then I was going to maybe get 20. I could then count my lashes to have an idea of when it was almost over.
If I counted the length of her breaths (how deep they were before exhaling) then I could gauge her stamina. I counted all of the time. I still do. How quick and heavy were the pace of her feet? Her outward rage and stomp was safer than the slow gait. If she wasn’t in a rush I knew for sure it was gonna hurt and she was going to be with me for awhile.
As I immediately did with Jennifer’s book, I’m sure you’ll find something that immediately grabs your attention and connects you to another survivor. You can also visit her on Redbubble to see her raw, controversial and raise the bar of awareness art work.
Thanks for visiting SUNDRIP

Oh I just randomly happened to come across this Tribute, thanks so much Faith, I’m really flattered that you enjoy and can relate to my poetry, people either love it or hate it, which is fine by me! I’m not sure if your links work now as I kind of burnt down my old bubble home and built a new one!!! No worries about updating this post if you don’t want to, I just wanted to drop by to say thanks!
