@ ~E~
"It may work for her but not for me."
Absolutely!!!!

@ Battle_Weary
I don't think some get how bad it feels to stand on the other end of their conversation and be ignored or treated as if they are a servant who requires no acknowledgment. It just gets me to no end when people do that.

I absolutely agree! I do have a cell phone, and I take it with me everywhere, it's like a security blanket for me...help is a phone call away. However, it's on vibrate most of the time, and its on off if I am in class, enjoying a meal, movie, tv show, friend, etc. I used to work in retail and it would infuriate me when I was trying to help a customer that was on the phone. Fortunately for me, the manager of the (eyeglasses) shop I worked in made a store rule...customer on the cell phone=no help until the call is finished. It is impossible to fit glasses on someone that is yacking away!

I've considered making a small sign to hold up at other drivers when I see them on the phone and driving... something along the lines of calling them a criminal since talking/texting and driving is illegal here. I worry that something like that, while being somewhat satisfying to me, would also be dangerous (road rage inducing). So I have not actually done it, only thought about it!

I have the same friend. She thinks she can carry on a conversation with me and text with someone else at the same time. It may work for her but not for me.
