I went moss hunting today. Since moss grows in medium light areas I just went to the far corners of the yard and looked at the feet of taller plants. Viola, there it was! I gathered moss, gathered a few small wild growing plants and began my tiny terrarium. As soon as the sun comes up I’ll try to get some shots of them. I did four in hopes that at least one would live. The lighting in here is terrible for photos so I’ll have to take them outside and photograph them, otherwise I’d have to fiddle with the photo more than I want to.
Here’s a shot of the plants in my little kitchenette.
In the photo you can see one of the tiny terrariums but as I said the lighting is horrible so you can’t see inside it. One terrarium can be seen in the tiny little herb bottle with the lid on it. The larger ones I did aren’t shown but I wanted to show off the plant containers I used. I finally googled a bunch of info on how to put plants in jars with no irrigation. That info let me use some of my prettier make-shift pots such as a small cast iron held candle holder (far left with the stick in it) and the red diamond mosaic vase turned planter. Gotta love google.
While on vacation I intend to finish up several projects I started but abandoned for this or that reason. The first one I completed was the little bear I started forever ago. Sitting beside the bear is a little sheep herder girl holding a golden pot. The bear was hand sewn, the girl is machine sewn and the little sheep was purchased for ten cents.
I intend to finish as many abandoned projects as I possibly can in my next ten days of vacation. The smaller ones I’ll tackle first because I can later look at my to do list and see a bunch of crossed off items.
If I finished only a few larger projects the list would still look long so I’ll do little stuff first and bigger projects later. Despite what Taz suggested, I refuse to put “get a tattoo” on my to-do list. Never gonna happen. I don’t care if she can wrap a sunflower around a little duck and make it look like a frikin masterpiece, it ain’t gonna happen.
The very last thing I intend to tackle is roof repairs on my doll house. The house is coming along nicely but had an oops which must be taken care of. I secured supplies for it, now I just have to do it. Shoot, I even painted a few mega tiny paintings for the walls. One painting is 1 inch by 1 half inch, tiny, tiny, tiny.
There have been request from insiders NOT to put photos of the our doll houses on the net because they want it just for themselves. I can post photos that look like them but not photos of our personal houses. We share a heck of a lot on the net so this request seems reasonable. I also don’t post photos of the fish tanks on the blog for the same reason. They want that for themselves and close friends.
I realized the other day that I dissociate a heck of a lot but not nearly as much as usual when I’m fiddling around with plants or watching the fish tank. Those are two activities I do without trying to hold back PTSD symptoms. I like that. I really like that there are parts of my life that PTSD can’t touch. It’s a beautiful thing!!!
