I went to services with some friends tonight. I like this couple, they’re so sweet. The guy is a New York Italian and the wife is a rather quiet and reserved native Hoosier with strong German roots. I remember her father and mother very well but I don’t remember her or her sister at all. I guess I never met them because they were married adults then. Their parents passed 3 years ago and they themselves are in their late 60′s. Go figure that I’d meet them after the death of their parents. That’s totally backwards.
Anyway, the couple picked me up and we headed to services with a mixed congregation of people. I like the number of African’s there. I was surprised by that but, at least 20 of the 90+ members are from an African country. It’s pretty awesome really. So anyway, “Fred” and his wife “Betty” are so funny! Fred is hyper and energetic, mischievous and ready for snark. Betty is laid back, calm and has great dry humor. The other day in the car she sat there piddling with something in her hands then said to Fred who was driving, “I’m going to have to start driving again. You know my heart can’t take this.” She said it just as dry and flat as can be. Tonight at McDonald’s Fred was giving the cashier grief just for fun. He stared in his own video we’ll call “Old People Behaving Badly”. They crack me up.
