Facebook makes families look happy

Have you ever noticed how happy families look on facebook? Man, from photos and updates you’d think most of my 28 FB friends were gleeful and well to do.

I’m a limited FB user. I refuse to put where I’m going out to eat or where I went. I refuse to put my phone number and address or much of any personal information up there. I figure enough of my private life is detailed here, do I really need to add the location of my meals complete with photos? Now, if you’re the type of person who does this then you keep right on doing it. I’m talking about me and my personal info as well as how much is already on the net due to this blog. So, you just photo and pinpoint away if you want to.

Getting back to my real issue, photos.  I always look at the photos and their friend’s photos who will allow it.  I don’t know what I’m looking for though. It breaks my heart to see them, makes me angry sometimes too. The family outings and photos of kids by the pool get me the most.

  • Tell me about it. I see all these people from high school happily (or so it appears) married and successful and then I look at myself. It magnifies my feelings of failure all the more.

I know the whole behind closed doors thing, that was my family. Just makes me hurt when I see those photos
