Trust Caution and Courage

During last night’s services they talked briefly about trust. I don’t trust very well, at all. As a matter of fact, when I hear the word my brain shuts off and I stop listening which is exactly what I did to the woman who said the most about the issue.

Later I went and asked her to repeat what she said. When I did she explained that people have a meter that allows them to gauge a persons trustworthiness. She said you can usually tell by just a little contact if they can be trusted or not. She said that trust isn’t just something you hand out freely, you have to use caution with it. Blind trust is foolish and can be harmful.

Later an elder talked about  stepping outside our comfort zone from time to time. Doing so allows for the making of strong friendships that would otherwise not be made because we’re over in our safe corner doing our regular routine with the same people we’ve known for ages. Widen out is what he said to do and allow room for others.

Trust and take courage to leave your comfort zone, that’s what I heard last night in services. I like going there.
