Dreammoods.com had a few interesting things to say about the particular vegetables in my dream. It said that in addition to spiritual nourishment, the veggies I chose also signify the need for approval or permission as well as caution. The symbolism for lettuce and school resonate most with me. While talking about school symbols it said that there may be a feeling of inadequacy that the dreamer is dealing with. Um, yes, that would be true. Sometimes the accuracy of the symbols is a bit frightening.

I often have dreams about getting lost at school or locked in after hours. Usually there’s a room in the school where food is being given away on huge pallets or I turn a corner and I’m in a food court / city market right in the middle of the school. There are a lot of booths but no one to attend them.
I was thinking about the teachers I sought out in last night’s dream. I looked for the teacher from the 4th grade who surely died a miserable death for how she treated her students. She was horrific! I mean a true nightmare. The teacher from the 9th grade was caring and kind but wasn’t able to help because I was afraid of him, of everyone. I always remembered his kindness though. My freshman year was long and drawn out. It was not my best year in school. It’s the year when dissociation became noticeable and problematic. The 9th grade was a true turning point.
