I also get the hiccups with carrots, only in their raw form, no other hard vegetable or fruit causes the reaction. Now I get hassled each time I go to eat a raw carrot "why do you eat those? you're just going to get the hiccups!blah blah blah". Tough, I like carrots they are good and good for you and like the others on this list, I don't hoover them down any differently than celery, cauliflower, turnips etc. I agree also with the people that say MD's don't really care, it doesn't cause them concern so they come up with some, "its what you are doing crud". If I were to eat nothing but raw carrots for lunch, I do get an "empty" stomach feeling that some may conclude as mild nausea. I've eaten a lot of carrots and never been physically ill as a result.

My therapist,Dr. D asked that I speak with him first before giving up Mikey. He said we should talk it through.
I know there is an issue where we fear getting attached to him but we also want to push away things that are good. It's so complicated.....so complicated. But I told him, we've expressed our fears, our thoughts. There has been no plan set in motion, just an expression of fears. I agreed to talk to him if it ever moved to more than an expression of fears. At this point we see nothing but good....boy does that scare us. :-)

Hold out... he's healing. He's a healing force in your life. It will just take a bit of time. There is absolutely a reason he came into your life at the time he did... things fell into place for him to be there with you.

I'm sorry you are in that awful pain again at such high levels.

....... scratch that about being good with other dogs.

Maybe some time down the road I'll try again but he doesn't seem to like a neighbor,s dog AT ALL. The neighbor and I agreed to have the dogs meet slowly but I quickly realized it was a bad idea. He's fine if a dog is on the other side of the street or something. He doesn't go off, doesn't care if they're there. But Mikey was having no part of the boxer. Perhaps the Chihuahua in him made him think he could take him. I'm not sure but, the boxer clearly has a good sense of humor. It's like a grasshopper barking at a lion. The lion would look at him like he's crazy and go on. That's exactly what the boxer did. He looked, all but laughed at Mikey and went on his way sniffing around.
I can still say that Mikey is great with people though. He met and played with three little girls outside and did very well. He knows no strangers and will greet people with kisses and a wagging tail. But he was not having any part of the boxer!

Sole is doing very well in his aquarium. He's swimming around now instead of just hanging on the side of the glass. This means he's advancing in stages and growing. It's so cool to watch them grow. I'll keep Sole but the other frogs will go up for sale unless of course they're female. If they're female then they'll be allowed to get bigger then go in with their mother Sia. No matter what sex Sole is, he gets to stay. It's so cool to see him swimming around in his under water forest.

I like a lot of life around me. It's wonderful to see the goldfish swimming, the tadpoles growing, the frogs playing and the of course the two furry critters playing at my feet. When there is life budding around me I feel energized, recharged and encouraged to put one foot in front of the other and continue my course through this life of mine.
