What a Show Off

I got a beautiful box in the mail with some of the sweetest little duck stuff in it. One thing included in the box was a t-shirt that says “Popduck.” Of course I swooned over it because its red and has a little duck on it.  When I looked at the size I realized there was no way my body would fit in it so I sat back and thought to myself, what can I do with this shirt? Ah, I’ve got it, I need a laundry bag. So to my sewing box I went. I grabbed a needle and red thread and began to sew the arms shut. I then trimmed the extra sleeve off and sewed up the bottom. After that I added draw strings to the neckline of the t-shirt and added a blue bow to the ducks head. This is how the t-shirt laundry bag turned out.

I think it’s adorable. (insert happy clap)

Oh, and, yes, I was triflin enough to fill it with laundry then take a photo. It is, after all, a laundry bag.

I just had to show off my new laundry bag and my new artwork. Go see, go see! What are you waiting for? Why are you still here?  I finished this one today.

Teddy Bear Lost

The other day at the Disabled American Veteran’s discount store I realized Mousy wasn’t in my pocket. I freaked! I went around the store looking for him but I couldn’t find him. All these thoughts went through my head. What if someone tries to buy him? What if I have to take my bear from the arms of a toddler. I’ll do it!

I frantically went to the front of the store to tell my friend who is also a cashier there that I couldn’t find the Mouse. My frantic six year old said to  me, “I want this motherfucker on lock down.”  Not only was I stunned she said it I had to correct her language and explain to her that they wouldn’t announce a Code Adam for a teddy bear. Amber Alert’s don’t apply to plush.

I went up to my friend with eyes as big as saucers and tried to explain what I was looking for. I realized I was just babbling. I couldn’t get real words out of my mouth.  I couldn’t get out a description of the bear or his red scarf. All I could say was “gone. he’s gone.” I was totally freaked out then a lady came up to me and told me she found him on the floor by the toy isle.

Aromatherapy Bear

I had more material to make another mousy bear. When I put him together I thought, hmmm, I should add a small Chamomile pouch to this. Once warmed it was a beautiful thing.

Three Little “Bears” and Seeds

It’s been decided that my little mousy bear is a multiple. He’s a bear and a mouse. The toga bear to the right isn’t a multiple, he’s just confused.

the-heart-of-lightThis week end I had a slight moral dilemma. Someone very kind is sending MeMe a gift card and a few well wishes. With the gift card will come sunflower seeds. Do I mail the sunflower seeds to MeMe or keep them for myself? If I keep them what sort of person does that make me?

This is my belief, the well wisher is cruel. Who does that? The gift card is no temptation at all but the seeds? Oh my gosh. I’ve really got to pull from my deepest moral reserves in order to forward the seeds to Dear MeMe. I just wonder though, what was the well wisher thinking? Was this intentional cruelty? Did she set out to test the moral fiber of little ‘ol innocent Aussie? … sigh….I wonder if she’s also going to send a box of peppermint taffy for me to forward. Hey, while she’s at it why not give a gift certificate only good for mint chocolate chip ice cream? Lets just do it up right!!! If I’m goin’ down I might as go down and out with a bang. So listen up dear well wisher, finish this off. Don’t leave me hangin’. I want my taffy and my ice cream and I want it NOW.

I’ll post an update about my moral status and the forwarding of said seeds.
