DID and Digital Television

Once I was forced by our great government to switch to digital TV I discovered yet another DID anomaly. When I dissociate I lose the signal on my converter box. If I get too excited by what I’m watching , I get that stupid  “searching for signal” code.  I have to remind myself not to walk anywhere near the box when watching TV or…..wait for it,…wait for it… I lose the signal.

I know I can’t wear a wrist watch cause I short out the battery too fast. I spend an ungodly amount of money on light bulbs because I blow them so easily. Who knew DTV would be an issue too.

Now That’s Lazy

It’s TV night which means special dessert night as I watch Harper’s Island.  I must have goo while watching soft gore. Because I didn’t want to bake chocolate chip cookies so I could duplicate last weeks dessert I decided I’d go pick up some cookie dough. I was feeling so lazy that I went ahead and got precut dough. I didn’t even feel like slicing it. I wanted precut.  Now that’s lazy.  I figured all I had to do was open the package, pop them on a pan and bake them.  If only it could be that simple. I’ll be danged if Nestle Toll House cookies weren’t recalled yesterday. Now I’m forced to return the item to the store notorious for recalls and actually bake.  Kroger grocery store is forever recalling something. They even started listing on your receipt past purchases that end up on the FDA’s recall list. Now that’s bad.

I wanted dessert and TV not dessert, TV and E. coli.

Chocolate and Slasher Films

Slasher films are usually unappealing to me. I’ve never seen Scream or any of the Friday the 13th movies. I’ve never seen Saw, Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Psycho. I’m not into bloody movies at all. Heck, I even turn my head during CSI when they show what it looks like when a screw driver enters human flesh or what a human brain looks like from a nasal cavity view. They like to do close up gross outs stuff but I turn my head. I can’t stand that, however, and I don’t know how this happened, but I actually watch Harper’s Island. I’m guilty. I watch that pathetic excuse for a show.  I look forward to the show. Sunday is golf day, Saturday is Harper’s Island. Everything I need to do has to be done by 9PM EST or it may not get done cause Harper’s Island is coming on. I even refuse to take phone calls at that time, that’s how bad I am about this show. It’s sad, I know.

Here are my Harper’s Island thoughts. Last night we learned that Abby’s mother and the original killer Wakefield were lovers but that didn’t keep him from killing the woman.  No love there I guess. Everyone thinks the love child is Abby but I think it might be Jimmy Mance or even the groom Henry Dunn. Either way, the Sheriff, Abby’s father (?) or should I say Abby’s mother’s husband failed to mention his wife’s little indiscretion resulting in birth. Tisk, tisk, tisk. Tramp! So now everyone thinks Abby is Wakefield’s daugther. I doubt it.

Survivor Tocantins, Brazil

I‘m a die hard survivor fan and this season is truly worth watching, well I mean ya know if you like watching major egos clash as the “weaker ones” are humiliated and pummeled with degrading comments then ya it’s worth watching. Keeping with the Dragon Slayer theme this season hosts a few noble players and peons as well as goblins and gooles.  I love the show but I hate how they exploit the obvious lying bastard that is Coach Wade. The man or shall I say Goblin Wade is seriously delusional as well as a compulsive liar. Basically the show has taken a sick bastard to make a buck off of him and we watch it in total disgust, but we watch it. Really though, would we watch the show if it were filled with nice people? Probably not. Where would be the fun in that? We want  bastards, liars and a nice guy and that’s  exactly what we got.

Early in the show Tyson aka little gool was funny. I thought he was comedy relief for the obvious stress caused by Coach Wade but now I see clearly he’s a mean little snap and pawn to Master Goblin Wade. These people are ridiculous.

Survivor seems to have a theme, they snatch up an outsider Mormon (usually openly gay), someone mentally ill, someone who will never have a chance in hell of winning and then someone with an ego the size of Texas. What we get is a crowd of undesirables and a few likable people. We watch the antics of the undesirables then hope the nice people will win but usually they don’t. As long as I’ve watched this show I’ve only seen that happen twice. Go Rupert!! Go Bob!!
