This is Rose Marie, a hand stitched, hand painted, ornamental rag doll. She’s about 12 inches from head to toe and wears little white undies and little black shoes.
Rose Marie is a doll that is soft to the touch and has very wavy brown hair made of super soft yarn. Her dress is made of up cycled material and detailed in gold and rose. She also wears a handmade pendant around the detailed collar of her dress.
Rose Marie has a light scent of rose and sage which compliments her gentle nature.
Wednesday she’ll travel to her new home where she’ll spend many happy days.

Black folk art is some of my favorite art. It touches something in me deeply that is difficult to explain.
This is a Black Raggedy Ann doll named Madison Ann. I can’t say she’s finished because I keep thinking I want to add one ribbon to her hair. I know someone else who has done a ton of whimsical dolls so I’ll have to ask her expert advice.
Madison Ann is about 18 inches. Like other handmade dolls on Sundrip, she is hand painted and has soft yarn hair. I search yarn shops looking for hair that is unique, something that will compliment the character of dolls made. In this case, the yarn is intended for scarf making but when I saw it I had to use it for a black folk art doll. Continue reading “Black Raggedy Ann Doll”
I have a love affair with things that hang, drape and flower which is why I constantly make things that hang, drape and flower. I make little ornaments that hang from my planters, from the light on the ceiling fans and from the sides of the curtains. I love things that hang.
The 3 inch sea shell ornaments added to my Etsy shop are in beautiful, rich colors such as brown, gold and turquoise. The ornaments come together.

When I painted little Gloria I was thinking about the production Les Miserable, about Éponine specifically. That character touches me. She loves intensely but quietly. She needs to be recognized yet she is always in the shadows. She has mastered her environment but her heart has been shielded from decay. She’s rough and fragile, equally.
Good news. The painting Gloria is being packaged to travel half way across the United States to a wall waiting just for her.
Although the original has been placed, you can purchase prints from my Redbubble shop in the section for children. Please see the sidebar for the Redbubble link.
I love moments like this, I really do. Continue reading “Gloria and Éponine”
Guess what was bartered today? Guess who gets a new home? Red Balloon! Good choice.
The African American boy with blue accents around his eyes stands tall in front of a rainbow background. There’s a faint show of a crown of small, round lights circling young Sam’s head. Open the detailed image and look closely, you’ll see it.
Your light is still there, even if other’s can’t readily see it. So when it glows only above your head just remember, your light shines to guide you, not others.
Art Title: Sam’s Red Balloon
Size: 8.5 x 5.5

I recently purchased a pallet box to hold more watercolors. In one area I selected
colors based on what I use most but on the other side I put colors I need more work with. For the most part, I enjoy watercolors but at times I swear it off saying I’ll never, ever try this media again.
There was a mishap that took place that required damage control. You know those water paint pens? Well, see, no one told me I was supposed to put only water in there. I thought I was to fill the barrel with ink or paint so that’s what I did. Later on I saw in blog entries that they were not used that way. I tried to clean them up as well as possible but it didn’t turn out so great. I was able to clean and save one barrel but all the brush tops. When I’m anxious I make small terrariums in glass jars. I make dry flower arrangements from flowers I’ve purchased or flowers donated by friends. I often get a years worth of lavender from a friend when she cuts hers back. I love that stuff. Thank goodness I don’t have allergies.
I have all kinds of terrariums and terrarium supplies, stuff I wanted to add to my Etsy shop. I haven’t added them because I have no idea how to ship them so I’ve started offering them locally. So far so good. I love getting my hands in that soil, placing driftwood, hand picked stones and tiny little plants into little landscapes.
I’ve struggled with depression recently, depression that feels too heavy to manage alone. Today I made a bit of extra effort to get out of bed and get into something productive which meant working with the fish and terrariums.
I’ve turned a 6 drawer wooden dresser into a feature garden with some of the drawers holding garden supplies like gloves, planters and terrarium supplies. Continue reading “Getting My Hands Dirty”
The Hope Tea Cat found a new home in Southern Indiana.
The person that adopted the kitty cat said her apartment complex doesn’t allow cats, so she adopted a stuffed cat with a pink heart nose and a little green checkered dress.
Safe travels little bear.

On sale now are all items in my Etsy shop and items in my Available Art Galleries until August 4th, 2017.
I’m having a sale so I can spend money in August. 🙂 I gotta buy art supplies. In other words, I’m selling art to make art.
August is the month I stock up on art supplies for the entire year. Also, I’m going to Goodwill on August 2nd to purchase some exercise equipment, among other things.
There are some fun new listings in my Etsy shop. I’ve put together two or three art pieces in one listing for one price. You’ll find these lot listings throughout the shop.
At check out on Etsy, use coupon code ArtForArtSale17 for 25% off your total purchase until August 4th, 2017. If you would like to have a PayPal invoice, I will apply the discount to the invoice.
Additional international shipping locations upon request. I return all international shipping above $1.
Please contact me for financial assistance (layaway, payments) if needed. We will work together to put art on your walls.
Please keep in mind that I also barter. On the sidebar is a wish list from Amazon. You don’t need to use Amazon but the items listed are the ones I’m looking for. I’m specifically interested in the wood burning set that I can use with encaustic art. The set is good for wood, soldering and wax work. That’s at the top of the list. 🙂
How does bartering work? Basically, you buy the item and send it to me. I pack up the art piece(s) you chose with corresponding price and send it to you. Easy as that. Contact me and we’ll set up our agreement.
Adopt art. Take it home and love it.
I never used to have sales but these are so fun. The prospect of someone taking advantage of the sale just makes me happy. I need to work on banners and such but you can expect to see more sales. This is fun.
Happy shopping!! 🙂
